This year the Pine Island Sharing Shelves would like to introduce and initiate an on-going program to help fulfill our needs at the food shelf.
We are asking area churches to help up out by declaring the first Sunday of each month as a “special food” donation day. We will use the following schedule:
December Tuna Sunday
February Hamburger Helper Sunday
March Cracker Sunday (saltines or graham)
April Cereal Sunday
May Canned Fruit Sunday
On the respective Sundays, we ask members of your congregation to bring the requested items and place them in a box or receptacle provided at your church. We will pick them up during the following week. If you wish, we can provide a box for your use.
These are some of the items that we go through continuously, and we are hoping this will help keep those sections of our shelves filled.
